Wizard Kin Progress, Dark Knight, and New Tablet

Posted by KartuneHustla - July 18th, 2008

Well, I'll try to make this read as conveniently long as I can. So far, Wizard Kin is moving along smoothly as far as animation goes. Right now I am still working on finishing so more animations so it is in its black and white stage. That means no color or backgrounds or sound effects have been added at all. Gotta get the frame by frame look good before you add the pretty parts. However, I took the time to color a cell of animation to show you what the final project should look like. The picture should be at the end of my post.
Luckily my new tablet just came in thanks to my buddy D-mac Double for purchasing me one. That was really cool of him to do that. It was a gift for my birthday, but I still feel like I must make it up to him somehow. Hopefully I can make an animation for him soon as my way of saying "HOLY CRAP I GOT A BAMBOO!".
Since I received the tablet half way through the project, i am gonna be sticking to whatever smoothness I have it on since most of the animation (like 55%) has been completed with a mouse. I still want to keep the style the same even though I got this new piece of awesome equipment. I can't promise the exact time Wizard Kin will be done, but I estimate between 3 weeks or 4 weeks. Shouldn't take any longer than that.

Now for side news. I just got back from watching the Dark Knight, and It is seriously one of the best superhero movies I have ever laid my eyes upon. If you are not even into Batman, I still think you should just check it out for the performances, especially Heath Ledger's as the Joker. Just walk out right after you see Heath Ledger finish his second introduction. He does a magic trick you won't forget :P. I can not stress enough how great Heath Ledger was. My spine was literally shivering and he had me laughing as well. There were scenes where I felt I just wanted the joker to just pop out of nowhere and make an appearance.
The movie plot wise and visually was outstanding. The musical score was so brilliant and I love how during silent parts, there was a thud that makes your heart pound as you see the intensity build up. The plot flowed very smoothly, and there were enough twist to keep you at the edge of your seat. I don't care how long this movie was, I didn't want it to end. And when it ended, I was like " Dammit that was so short". But my friend told me 2 hours and 30 so minutes had passed. I couldn't believe it. I never sat through a movie that long without yawning at least once and this didn't make me yawn one bit. Did I mention that the Joker was awesome? Also, the action sequences greatly improved over the first one and for a pg 13 film, there were a lot of gruesome scenes that weren't really gruesome if that makes sense. I guess like, all of the graphic stuff happens off screen but still is creepy. I guess that's the genius of Chris Nolan's directing abilities. So yes, the movie is worth your money and make sure you go to the bathroom before you sit down. You don't want to miss a minute.

So thats all for now. I'll wrap the post up by saying go see Dark Knight, and watch out for Wizard Kin ( a series for Newgrounds). Hopefully you guys will like it

Oh, and also, I am joining the Newgrounds Collab after I finish Wizard Kin. Ill take an hour out of each day to do my part so I can make the deadline :). Rudy has a cool thing going. Check it out if you can. I'm doing alien hominid

Here is a picture from Wizard Kin. Let me know what you think about having the Newground's logo in the corner as the animation is playing. When i watch Nicktoon cartoons, I usually see the logo in the corner. I was thinking it would be cool for Newgrounds to have a logo in the corner of the movies so when people jack them or upload them somewhere else, people can click that logo to take them directly back to Newgrounds or just make them wonder, what the heck is Newgrounds anyways? I think it's a cool idea and can only help Newgrounds. So, any ideas on how the logo should look. Let me know what you think Tom if you read this. Post over

Hey, I had the same idea about Watermarks on one of my newsposts
<a href="http://hylian-mafia.newgrounds.com/news/post/108011">http://hylian-mafia.newgrounds.com/ne ws/post/108011</a>

Anyways, I'll looking forward to Wizard Kin.

O, i like some of your watermarks. I might definitely try some

Dark Knight was one of the greatest movies ever. I've been ranting across the internet for days.
I can't make another news post till Tuesday, but when I can I'm going on a massive obsessive praise of Dark Knight.

Sweet. Can't wait to see the post. TDK RULES

I bet the boss told you to kill me
No, I kill the bus driver
What bus driver?

God I loved that part.

hahah i know. That part had me in shock and laughter

fag

Dude, yeah. That movie was pretty much ridiculously grand. Anywho, even though Wizard Kin is a newgrounds sponsored flash, the watermark in the corner seems unnecessary. I've never really seen it done before and most TV stations only really do that as a reminder of what station you're watching. In the case of something playing on newgrounds, well, I imagine the surroundings of the movie frame are pretty telling. That's just this little fellow's opinion.

You should look into joining my collab about The Dark Knight, then.
