I loved this short

That was hilarious. I would have never thought of fishing like that. Also, that guy deserved what he got at the end for being a douchebag. Anyways, The animation in this was very well done. Everything moved fluidly. The backgrounds look great in this as well. It looks like you put alot of time in drawing everything out. I hope you got an A for this because it was awesome. Definitely gonna favorite this short

Gotta Love Barry White

You get extra points for using a Barry White song man. When I saw the shot of Santa shaking his butt to the music, that pretty much made me say "I'm gonna give this a five. The animation was very clean (at some points it was missing a few in-betweens, but it was still good nonetheless). I kind of wish it didn't end without finishing the song, but I thought you did a good job at giving it an end even when the song was barely over. Now I have to add this to my favorites to show my mom because she loves her some Barry White. Keep it up man... I loved every minute of this

Probably one, if not the best collab of 2008

It's a shame that the score is so low for this collab. It should definitely be higher, but I'm not gonna lie, when I pressed played, I was immediately bored by the long introduction you guys had before I even got to see the music video. Most of the people on newgrounds, including me, have very short attention spans. When i press play, I want to jump right into the animation. It took me about three tries before I took the time to watch the entire thing.... but it was worth it
For a collaboration, there wasn't a single bad part. Usually the thing that messes up a collab is that one person who has a horrible part that breaks the whole flow of the collab. Anyways, all of you guys did an excellent job with this. Don't worry if your score is lower than you hoped. Trust me when I say that you will get a front page and if this is not a daily first, there will definitely be people who will defend this. I will go out and say right now that this is the best collab this year.
This is definitely in my favorites. I hope you guys get the score you deserve because if i were one of you guys I'd be kind of pissed as well with the score it has now. When other people get like 4.40's for like average work at best. Well, I won't take anymore space. Good luck to you all on your future projects. Ten all the way

Pretty funny

I thought you did a pretty good job with the parody. I only played the demo, but I'm surprised you didn't make fun of the fact that they say reload like every 5 seconds or about the witch. But i thought it was a decent parody. Of course, the animation wasn't great and the graphics were kind of bad, but it serves its purpose... it goes with the audio and gives me something to look at. Nothing much I can complain about...
It would be wrong for me to just throw you a 10 because i laughed. You still need work on your audio quality and artwork. The animation was decent though so you did a good job with that.

I know you can do better St1k

Well, I really don't know how to feel about this animation. As much as I love Tomamoto and st1k, this just feels a bit lazy and the idea has been done before (and better actually). I hate to give this a bad review, but there's really no other way for me to do it. Firt of all, I know you were going for simple animation, but I mean come on man. Don't try to make it an excuse about the lip sync. Apple commercials aren't that simple. The people do have lips. It just felt like you were trying to take an easy way out by not doing lip sync. It wouldn't have taken you that much time... really man
As for animation, yes it was simple. There is really nothing to say here. I think the only things that moved were the arm. The rest was just the same imaged being moved around with the use of skewing and whatnot. But hey... its simple so because you say its simple than i can't really complain about it because you said that's what you were going for.... But!
You could have put at least a tad bit more effort into this man. I've seen your work and i know you can do better. I feel like you just did it today in like 5 hours. I just know you can do better
Now, imma talk about the jokes really fast. The one parody i remember way before this was by the geniuses. His video was also called Iphone shuffle. Ironically, the parody made fun of the fact that the iphone shuffle would have one button and the button would randomly call people on your list. This could be a coincidence if the other parody didn't have about like 700,000 views. So this isn't a new idea and it just felt like an animated version of that parody.
I know i criticize you alot st1ks, but i want you to stop taking the easy way out when making a cartoon.
Imma talk about the audio just for a second. It was really low quality. I was wondering why the sizejavascript:submission_controller.
GetReviewController().SaveReview(); of this flash was so small. You need to export the flash with a higher audio quality. I know for a fact that when Tomamoto makes his audio, his stuff is smooth and clean as a whistle. His audio always sounds flawless... this did not however.
Well thats all i have to say really. Hopefully you make a submission where I will really say, that was his best cartoon yet. In all of your cartoons, I never seen you going the extra mile to make it shine. It always feels rushed.

Definitely a gem

This is gonna be one of those flashes that will be on the front page next year after they announce the winners of the treasure hunt. I have a feeling it's one of those types of flashes... a gem. Even though there wasn't really much animation, that didn't really take away from the joke.. in fact, it made it even funnier. I'll add this to my favorites so I wont forget it exist and it gets lost in the portal. Can't way to see more from you Rudy
-KartuneHustla

Rudy responds:

Awh, that's really nice to hear. I'll be releasing another joke tonight around 12am again, so I better start working on it sometime soon. I tried to keep the animation low because I didn't feel like it needed to be intensely made to even tell the joke.

And besides, I'm doing rough sketches and easy drawings since my tablet broke not too long ago -- So I'm stuck being a mouse artist at the moment.

Rubiks Cube could have been explored more

The animation was very impressive in this one. When I first started watching it, and I saw he was trying to solve the rubiks cube, I assumed he would solve it and something magical would happen. But it was sort of abrupt the way it ended. Maybe if he solved it, then the note popped up, it would have been better, but it was sort of pointless in having the rubiks cube if that's all that was going to happen. It could have been any object that fell from the sky if it was just going to later turn into a note.
This is still a great animation though and its worth watching for the animation. I also liked the design of the character. Hope to see more from you

Work on your comedic timing

The timing in this parody was incredibly off considering its suppose to be an awesome-like movie. Maybe if it wasn't called awesome i wouldn't hold it against you, but the way you pace your jokes is a tad slow and not really as crazy as it should be. The drawing was spot on comapred to the first metal gear awesome. The animation was good as well, but it definitely doesn't hold a candle to the newer awesomes. Like i said, I probably wouldn't focus on these things if you werent labeling it as an awesome movie. Judging it as a stand alone this is what i will say:
I didn't really laugh once during the parody. Not that the jokes were bad, but the pacing didn't really feel right at all. Also, it seemed you copied alot of the jokes from the other Metal Gear Awesomes. I never like listening to repeated jokes. If i wanted to do that, I would just watch the other Metal Gear Awesomes. The fact that you managed to make 25% of this recycled jokes just turned me off, especially the pyschomantis joke about reading his mind to see what games he likes. Also, the delivery of snakes lines was sort of bad. Especially the part where he says, Octagon, what the eff?
It would be unfair for me to give you anything under a 7. The hard work really does show and this is probably the one of the best animated awesome tributes out there (you stick very close to the style). Id probably put this over grand theft awesome animation wise (even though the timing for that one is spot on) and under Awesome racer. Just work on the way you pace things. If you are going to do an awesom parody, do it right
Also, I sincerely believe you made this as a tribute. I hate when people give this a 0 or 3 just because its another copy. There have been so many that im used to it by now and could care less anymore, but i just grade it on how it could be better just like a review should be. If you are gonna trash someone, do it on your own time in a forum or a news post. Well, good luck with your future projects.

secondstamp responds:

I very much agree. Yes, I think it's pretty fair. People who vote 0 just because it's a tribute don't need to actually vote at all - their votes will screw up the rating that will give me an idea of how the movie fairs. Thanks man.

Fantastic

I really love what you did with the frame by frame in this. The characters moved continuously along with the background. It's crazy how you managed to do those shots where even the background moved in order to make it seem like the camera did a turn shot. It was like 3d or something. Anyways, you did an amazing job. The story was pretty funny and sweet. Luckily the blue thing didn't have a heart attack. Good work overall

TheBoogley responds:

Yeah, I was worried about the blue guy too there for a minute. It's funny when you realise the power you have over your characters, I could kill them at any moment! :O

What's with the animation?

This had a nice story and the ending was pretty cool, but because its based on legend of zelda, it doesn't really make it that original. Not saying its bad, but it would be cool if you based it on your own characters. But, I have to admit the ending was a good way to gain suspense. The animation on the other hand just takes me out of the story.
For starters, i watched the other episodes, and nothing has changed animation wise. They still feel pretty unnatural and stiff. First fight really felt stiff, especially the part where the sword magically appeared out of nowhere and cut the evil david's head off.
Now, this is where you lost me animation wise. You went from this stiff animated fight scene to this fbf fight scene that looked a bit traced. Im not saying you traced anything, but i doubt during the middle of the project you got all good a fbf and just did the fight scene with your new found skills. Then at the end, it went back to the unnatural animation yet again. The transition felt so sloppy man. I really wanna know what happened with that. Seriously
And for the score being 4.38, I think it is way to high of a score. For this... seriously. It was decent. Maybe even worth a 4.00, but that is way to high for something like this. This is basically saying that this is up there with fallen angel, which i think is ridiculous. If you read this, then you know that is probably should be a tad lower. It feels like people may have over voted for whatever reason. Anyways, thats all I have to say.
PS. Fix the discrepancy with the animation
